Relevance of Buddhism today

It is often said that has Buddhism any relevance today. Today is the world of continuous material progress, new invention for the ease of the life of mankind are happening. Where is the time and place for spirituality or such religious rites and ritual.
Well, the answer lies withing ourselves. May the time changes for the sixth century BC to now 21st century but the very basic nature and functioning of our mind is almost same. The change is visible in outer world and it is the change in shape, form and appearance whereas the interaction and our perception of things are altogether same. Let me put it this way.
We all know..................

What is your Buddhism?

"The religion of the future will be a cosmic religion.
It should transcend personal God and avoid dogma and theology.covering both the natural and the spiritual,
it should be based on a religious sense arising from the experience of all things natural and spiritual as a meaningful unity.
Buddhism answers this description.
If there is any religion that could cope
with modern scientific needs it would be Buddhism."          ------------------------------

I am fond of Orkut but what I found youth with no direction

For the time being I have stopped visiting Orkut. It is so because I wanted to express myself to the fullest possibilities and it was undone by the junk available on net. Possible more preparation and alertness is needed to start with your virtual expression on computer. But my experiences to internet world met with a thud not due to physical exercises but due to emotional hollow of netizens. I want to remain calm and candid and to maintain both; I tried my level best that no hard feelings should be left between net friends and me. This bitterness in relationship even though virtual, is painful to those who do not have ardent Zeal for life and not struggled in their livelihood. They live in their fantasies keeping in mind that all the virtual character will be real and the problems of stories are real one.
But when the hard and harsh reality, yes this is true, when the present youth faces the harsh realities he could not accept it as a real one and try to find solace in their own imaginary world. Their near and dears kept on struggling to find their space in this cruel world, they keep themselves busy in their electronic gadgets and internet. They do not realize that this Uncle chips, burger, chow men are nonexistent entities without the agricultural exercises that their poor farmer uncle or neighbour is doing and they are facing trouble in earning a piece of bread. This social phenomenon becomes more grief when political leadership do not recognize the farmers and labourer’s problem since they are unorganized sectors and hence very little effect on the political arena. But have no hesitation to accept that 75% of this phenomenon is due to the lack of vision provided to youth by the present social, political, religious and educational icons for which they are meant and paid too.
I am not trying to sermonise this writing nor have the capacity to do so. But today generation do not face refusal and this is evident when a minor arguments of words on road side driving turns into brutal homicides. School boys carrying revolver from father desk and fire at school mates to settle the score is not now limited to the west. Now the open firing is not remote matter of America. It is happening in our cities also. Today the problem of youth is not the poor situation of farmers or labourer of mango-grove but they do bother about the speed of internet or mobile tunes. Grain production that can fill up the belly of mankind and other beings is not a subject of discussion now. Changing trends of Levis and Versace’s designer wear Jeans may be the bottom line of conversation of today’s youth.
Why this has been occur. Are today Gandhi, Buddha, Mahavira, Ram & Krishna lost their relevance and our icons are now Michael Jackson type person only? Our destination is not to make our country heaven but flee away from first given opportunity to states or Australia? The situation is pathetic and this materialistic attitude will only give us frustration and more psychic problems that are regular items in west. the problem of present generation man is he has been deceived from both sides. Youth is not ready to listen to him and openly running to materialistic approach and on the other hand old age parents of ours are not at all in a mood to accept the change and want to remain in middle age euphoria. At one hand present man is trying to hold his cultural legacy which his father gave to him, on other he is trying to be progressive by allowing virtual world and other mechanised facility who has replace human labour and open the vista of one world to him.
So forget the individual goals and let us make our India a strong and leading model of visionary. I hope I may be understood in right context. I conclude with this couplet of Faiz’s:-
और भी ग़म है ज़माने में मुहब्बत के सिवा, राहतें और भी हैं वस्ल की राहत के सिवा

The Art of Buddhist Mind

Nearly two and half millennia ago, a person named siddhartha rose against the torment of life and tried to save the beings from the suffering. This great personality has multiferous dimension to understand and to begin with his dialectical methods depicted through the forms of Art has relevance for the most common problems of entire globe today.
Lets try to decifer those expression of the Muni of Sakya clan, who although forbed his followers to build any idol, yet you will be surprise to know that it is Buddha whose iconographical score is highest in the entire religious traditions!!
It was the Buddha who dare to say that do not rely upon the words even if it is said by me, you master.

It was the Buddha who said that religion is a tool to free yourself from suffering in the journey of life. Do not carry it beyond the need. He said as the following:-
भिक्खवे कूल्लूपमो मया धम्मदेसिता, नित्थरणत्थायाद नो गहणत्थाय।। (सूत्र पिटक-मज्झिम निकाय 1.22)
O monks, I have given you this small boat of religion to go to the other yonder, not to carry on your shoulder.
